Practical controls for LG OLED C1, C2, C3, C4, and G4 owners who want clearer control over their TV settings. Disable TPC and GSR auto-dimming, access the LG OLED service menu, choose HGIG tone mapping in HDR, and read the OLED-care notes in the app before you change protection settings.
HGIG in HDR Filmmaker Mode
Choose HGIG tone mapping in HDR Filmmaker Mode on compatible TVs. Keep Filmmaker Mode's color and processing without switching to Game mode, and change it back any time.
Stop Auto‑Dimming: TPC and GSR
Turn TPC (ASBL) and GSR off for desktop use and long static scenes on supported TVs, and back on when you want, with no service remote. On 2018–19 models the app opens InStart, and you change them on the TV. Turning protection off can raise burn-in risk.
Service menu access for supported LG models
Open EZAdjust, InStart and hidden TV menus from the app on supported models, with in-app notes on what each menu does and why to change values with care.
Instant inputs and apps
Switch HDMI inputs or launch installed TV apps straight from the app, and on iPhone, iPad and Android pin your favorite apps to the remote. No digging through TV menus.
Gaming presets
Save presets with picture mode, key sliders and HGIG for HDR, then apply one to the current signal from the app. Check a preset before you apply it: gaming presets can turn TPC and GSR off.
Wake and power controls
Wake a saved TV over Wake-on-LAN when you connect, turn it off from the remote, and set SIMPLINK (HDMI-CEC) Auto Power Sync on compatible TVs.
Color Gamut and color controls
Pick Color Gamut, including Auto, from the app where your TV allows it, with tint and color temperature sliders next to it. Options depend on your TV and picture mode.
Peak Brightness control
Choose a Peak Brightness level, including High, on supported TVs. The app includes a burn-in note, and the result depends on your TV and picture mode.
Fix washed-out or crushed blacks
Set Video Range to Auto, Limited or Full for the current source, so the TV matches what your console, PC or player sends. Not available while Dolby Vision plays.
Real Cinema control (2017–2018 models)
Switch Real Cinema on or off from the app on 2017–2018 LG models. Whether it takes effect in Dolby Vision Game depends on your TV and firmware.
HLG override for HDMI sources
On supported TVs, set the HDMI EOTF to HLG when your source sends HLG but the TV picks the wrong mode. The override applies to all HDMI inputs, so reset it to Auto when you are done.
Model- and firmware-aware controls
Some advanced controls depend on your TV model and webOS version. TV Info shows the model and firmware when your TV reports them; otherwise check the TV’s About screen.

- Yes. The app saves each TV that you pair, and you can switch between saved TVs. When the app starts, it connects again to the TVs it has saved.
- Does the app need the internet?
- Discovery and TV commands use only your local network. The internet is needed for the download, for updates, for sign-in and purchases, and from time to time to confirm a paid plan.
- What is free?
- The download is free. It includes the TV remote, launching TV apps, waking a saved TV, logs and TV information. A Weekly or Lifetime plan unlocks the full settings and calibration tools.
- Can I undo a settings change?
- Most picture and game settings are normal TV settings, and you can set them back in the app or in the TV menu. Before you change an advanced setting, write down its current value, as the guides in the wiki explain.
- Why does the app not find my TV?
- The most common causes are a denied local network permission, a guest Wi-Fi network that isolates devices, or a TV that is fully off. Allow the permission, use the same network for both devices, and try the TV’s IP address.
