How to Install OLED Control on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Android
Install OLED Control from the App Store, the official Mac download or the official Android APK, then grant local-network access and pair an LG TV.

OLED Control is available from the Apple App Store for iPhone, iPad and Mac, as a notarized direct Mac download, and as an official Android APK. Use only the links below. Store compatibility requirements and release details can change, so check the destination page before installing.
iPhone and iPad
- Open OLED Control on the App Store.
- Check the Compatibility section for the current iOS or iPadOS requirement.
- Tap Get and authenticate if requested.
- Open OLED Control and allow local-network access.
- Keep the Apple device and LG TV on the same network for pairing.
As of July 12, 2026, the US App Store listing requires iOS 17.6 or later on iPhone and iPadOS 17.6 or later on iPad. Apple can display different availability by region, and a later release may raise these requirements.
Mac App Store installation
The same App Store listing supports compatible Macs. As of July 12, 2026, it lists macOS 15.0 or later. Install it with the normal App Store flow, then grant local-network access when prompted.
Direct Download for Mac
- Open the official Mac download page.
- Read the release label and published SHA-256 checksum on that page.
- Select Download DMG and compare its checksum if you verify downloads.
- Open the DMG and drag OLED Control to Applications.
- Launch the copy from Applications, not from inside the disk image.
The direct build is notarized for normal Gatekeeper checks. Do not bypass macOS security warnings for a file downloaded from another site. If the checksum or signing result does not match the release page, delete the file and download it again.
Android installation
The Android build is distributed as the official production APK rather than through an unofficial mirror.
- Download the latest official OLED Control APK.
- Open the APK on the Android device.
- If Android asks, allow installation from the browser or file manager used for this download.
- Install and open the app.
- Revoke the temporary install-source permission afterward if you do not need it.
Android version and device compatibility should be checked against the current release notes. This guide does not claim a fixed minimum version because the APK release can change independently of the website.
First launch and pairing
On every platform:
- connect the device and TV to the same home network;
- allow local-network access where the operating system requires it;
- turn on the TV for first pairing;
- accept the pairing prompt with the physical remote;
- test a basic command before changing advanced settings.
An internet connection can be needed for download, account or purchase functions, but normal TV discovery and commands use the local network. UPnP or DLNA is not a stated requirement for OLED Control pairing.
Installation troubleshooting
The TV is not found
Confirm that both devices are on the same non-guest network. Disable a VPN temporarily and check whether the router isolates wireless clients. Then follow Connection Issues.
Local-network permission was denied
Open the operating system's privacy settings, enable local-network access for OLED Control, and restart the app. The exact settings path varies by OS release.
macOS rejects the direct build
Download the DMG again from the official page, verify the checksum, copy the app to Applications and try once more. A signature or checksum mismatch is not a prompt to override security.
Android blocks the APK
Confirm that the file came from the official GitHub release link. Grant install permission only to the app that opened that file. Do not install repackaged APKs from download aggregators.
Verify the installer before trusting it
On macOS, the direct-download page publishes the release artifact and checksum. A SHA-256 comparison confirms that the downloaded bytes match the published file; notarization and code signing establish the identified developer and Apple's malware-check workflow. These checks answer different questions, so use both when investigating a warning.
Move the application to Applications before launching. Running from the mounted disk image can produce confusing update or permission behavior. If Gatekeeper reports a damaged, unidentified or modified application, delete that copy and obtain it again from the official page rather than using an override command.
For Android, the browser or file manager receives temporary permission to install unknown apps. Grant permission only to the exact app opening the official APK, complete installation and revoke it afterward. An APK mirror can re-sign or alter a package while preserving the product name.
Updates and moving between distribution channels
The App Store manages updates for its installed build. A direct Mac build follows the update behavior documented on the download page. Do not assume that installing one over the other preserves every local permission or update receipt; finish the current app, retain any account credentials through normal sign-in and launch the chosen Applications copy.
Android APK updates must be signed compatibly with the installed application. If Android reports a signature conflict, do not uninstall immediately if local state matters. Confirm that both packages came from the official release channel and consult current release notes.
After any platform update, local-network permission may be requested again or discovery can be delayed until the app is relaunched. Test pairing and one basic command before relying on presets.
Permission choices on first launch
Local-network access is necessary for discovering and controlling a TV on the LAN. Notification, analytics or other prompts have separate purposes and should not be treated as discovery requirements unless the current operating-system dialog says so. Read each prompt and grant only what supports your intended use.
If local access was denied, correct it in system privacy settings and reopen OLED Control. Reinstalling solely to force the prompt is unnecessary on most platforms and can remove local configuration.
Safe rollback and removal
To remove OLED Control, uninstall it through the operating system's normal app-management interface. On the TV, remove the saved authorization only if you no longer want that device to reconnect. Uninstalling the phone or Mac app does not repair VLAN isolation or TV firmware.
When a new release misbehaves, capture app version, operating-system version, TV model/firmware and reproduction steps. Use an officially published prior build only if the project provides one and its signature can be verified. Never download an arbitrary “older version” from an aggregator.
