Terms of Service

Last updated: September 27, 2025

Overview

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of OLED Control websites, apps, software, documentation, and any related services (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.

For clarity in this document: "Company", "we", "us", or "our" refers to the operator of OLED Control. "You" or "your" refers to the person or entity using the Services.

Eligibility

You must be of legal age to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction and not barred from using the Services under applicable law. If you access the Services on behalf of an entity, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that entity, and these Terms apply to that entity.

Account & Communications

You may need to provide certain information (e.g., email) to join a waitlist, receive updates, or access features. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date. You consent to receiving communications related to the Services. You can opt out of marketing emails via provided links.

License & Acceptable Use

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Services for your personal or internal business purposes. You will not: (a) copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Services; (b) reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except to the extent laws prohibit these restrictions; (c) access the Services to build a competing product; (d) use the Services in any unlawful, harmful, or abusive way (including security testing without authorization, or transmitting malware); or (e) remove or obscure any proprietary notices.

TV Controls, Risk, and Warranty Impact

The Services provide interfaces and educational content for TV controls and settings that may affect device behavior, picture quality, power consumption, or component wear. You are solely responsible for changes you make to your devices. Certain advanced settings (including service or developer menus) may be intended for trained technicians only and could affect warranties, manufacturer support, or device longevity. You understand and accept these risks and agree to proceed at your own discretion.

OLED Control is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by LG Electronics, Apple, Google, or any TV manufacturer or platform provider. Trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Third‑Party Services

The Services may rely on or link to third‑party products and services (e.g., analytics, hosting, app stores). We do not control and are not responsible for third‑party services. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies.

User Content

If you submit content (e.g., feedback, wiki edits), you grant us a worldwide, royalty‑free, sublicensable license to use, host, reproduce, modify, publish, and display such content for operating, improving, and promoting the Services. You are responsible for your content and ensure that it does not infringe others’ rights or laws.

Paid Features

If we offer paid features or subscriptions, billing terms will be presented at purchase. Fees are non‑refundable except as required by law. We may change pricing or features with notice, and prorations or credits (if any) will follow the posted terms at the time of change.

Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON‑INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR‑FREE, OR THAT SETTINGS OR RESULTS WILL MEET YOUR EXPECTATIONS OR AVOID DEVICE WEAR OR WARRANTY IMPACTS.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICES WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100) OR (B) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN FEES (IF ANY) FOR THE SERVICES IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO LIABILITY.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain damages or limitations on implied warranties, so the above may not fully apply to you. In those cases, the exclusions and limitations shall apply to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Indemnification

You will defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Company and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to your use of the Services, your content, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

Governing Law; Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction specified by the Company without regard to conflict‑of‑laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved through binding arbitration on an individual basis, and you waive any right to participate in a class action or class‑wide arbitration. You and the Company may seek relief in small‑claims court where available. You and the Company agree that any injunctive relief may be sought in a court of competent jurisdiction to protect intellectual property or confidential information.

Placeholder — We will confirm governing law, arbitration forum, seat, and venue with you. If you have a preferred jurisdiction (e.g., Delaware/California/your country), we will update this section accordingly.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if you violate these Terms or use the Services in a way that, in our reasonable judgment, creates risk or possible legal exposure. You may stop using the Services at any time. Certain provisions by their nature survive termination (e.g., ownership, disclaimers, limits of liability, indemnities, dispute resolution).

Changes to the Services or Terms

We may modify the Services and these Terms. If changes are material, we will provide notice (e.g., by updating the date at the top of this page or via email). Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
